Permission is given for free use of data in the search result for non-commercial purposes; any commercial use must be granted by prior written agreement.

The data project DALI was established by D. Triebel & G. Rambold with technical assistance from I. Sebek. It uses a MS Access database application set up by G. Rambold. The webinterface WILD used until January, 2004 was developed by A. Findling. The ColdFusion webinterface used now was programmed by W. Spiesberger. Currently DALI is maintained and expanded by staff members of the Botanische Staatssammlung München (M) as part of the Mycology.Net project.

Usage of DALI

DALI, a "Database of Ascomycete Literature", comprises references which pertain systematic and taxonomic studies of ascomycetes. Within that, it primarily deals with the Lecanorales, Leotiales and the ecological group of lichenicolous fungi, but includes references to pyrenocarpous, erysiphalean and mitosporic fungi as well. The database also provides access to information about molecular data relevant to ascomycete systematics. The literature is arranged in nine categories containing taxonomic, biological and methodological topics.

You may search it using each field (authors, title strings, year, editors, journal, books, category) alone or combined with others. Within the fields for authors and title strings you may use the and/or functions. You do not need to add wild cards. In a regular search all categories are included. The selection of categories with "yes" (or alternatively non-selection with "no") restricts the result to hits with these categories explicitly included (or alternatively explicitly excluded). When searching only for journals, you need to unselect the checkbox option 'incl. books'.

Results are provided in the alphabetical, chronological and bibliographical correct form and order, ready to be used as references in scientific articles. Journal names follow Botanico-Periodicum Huntianum. 'Year1/year2' provides the real date of publication first, and the date indicated on the cover second.

Technical remarks

The current database contains more than 7,000 records. Most of the references in the database have been verified, that is they have been checked for accuracy against the original. Nevertheless, typing and other errors can occur. In such cases we kindly ask the user to contact the DALI editorial staff at the Botanische Staatssammlung München.
